June 3, 2009

Helena Cobban’s article “The Palestinian paradox” in a recent issue (May 25, 2009) of the Nation magazine raises the issue of “two Palestinian constituencies whose needs  were most notably ignored when Arafat signed the Oslo Accord (2003).”  These are the 1.2 million Palestinian Israelis and the 5 million Palestinians living in exile.

According to Omar al Issawi in his current story on Al Jazeera there are about 400,000 officially registered Palestinian refugees in Lebanon and he describes their situation.
